WHAT TO BRING
- Wear clothing suitable for cycling – and no, Lycra is not required! However sturdy shoes and ¾ trousers or shorts are recommended to prevent toes and trousers getting caught in spokes
- There are baskets on the front of your bike, but we suggest that you bring a backpack as well to put any extra bits and pieces in
- Water bottle
- Don’t forget the sunscreen!
OOH, YUMMY, A PICNIC. HOW DOES THAT WORK?
All cyclists receive a picnic (this is where the baskets and backpacks come in handy). This will consist of freshly made local breads, cheeses, chutneys and other seasonal goodies. Perfect for sharing at one of our special picnic spots along the way! If you have food allergies then please tell us when booking.
TASTING ETIQUETTE
The winemaker and vineyard owners will walk you through the process of wine tasting in their own personable and friendly ways. Please note that some wineries may charge a tasting fee. This is at the discretion of the individual wineries but we recommend that you carry up to $5 per winery just to be on the safe side.
FITNESS LEVEL REQUIRED
Although the route is flat and you will only cycle about 5 or 6km, it does still require a degree of fitness. If you haven’t been on a bike in a few years we suggest you go for a little spin beforehand to reacquaint yourself (and lessen the chances of you falling off in front of your friends!)
WINE COLLECTION
We don’t want to restrict you to just buying a 'basket' or 'backpack' of wine, so the wineries will happily deliver your wine back to our headquarters at the end of the day, otherwise you can call into them on your way home and collect it.
